Description
The perfect environment for classic horseracing, Deauville is not just a town with a racecourse but revels in the deep culture, history, and spectacle of the sport with two first-class horseracing venues in which to enjoy the very best Deauville races.
The first of these is Deauville-La Touques Racecourse which has hosted thoroughbred racing since 1882.
Famed for its summer racing, the highlights of the season are four Grade I Classics which draw great crowds comprised of keen racegoers from far and wide and those who wish to incorporate some world-class racing and hospitality into their summer holidays in the area.
Winter racing has recently been introduced to employing the latest technology in an all-weather track. Not only does this allow all year racing at Deauville-La Touques but also increases the number of summer fixtures, some of which can be hosted on the new surface to save the turf track.
There are races at Deauville-La Touques most days in July and August and in addition to all the hospitality options at the course, a great many further attractions and activities are laid on for families to make the most of their day.
Hospitality at the Races probably isn’t as expensive as you think! “Do it in style”, there's nothing nicer than being waited on royally during your day at the races!
Children are admitted free to the course for every meeting. Racing is also held during March, October, and December, on the all-weather track. The other venue in the town is Deauville Clairefontaine’s Racecourse. An incredible course occupying 40 acres, much of which is taken up by four race tracks, and the visual splendor enhanced by stunning floral displays. Thoroughbred flat racing is the main attraction, with 88 races staged each year on the flat racing track.
The steeplechase track and hurdles track host a further 34 jump races and the final track is given over to trot racing, with 21 feature races each year. For the big events, up to 7000 racegoers fill the grandstand, and each morning before the first race-free guided tours of the course help visitors get the full race day experience.
Deauville Clairefontaine’s Racecourse is the ideal venue for family days out at Deauville Races. Not only are children admitted for free but there are many children’s activities including face painting, pony and carriage rides, gifts and snacks, all of which are free and for parents’ peace of mind there is also free, secure crèche facilities.
The hospitality options and packages to complement Deauville races are comprehensive and either course makes for a superb venue for private functions and celebrations or mixing business with pleasure. Race day dining in a great restaurant, private box or suite are popular options while for any racegoer there are many informal dining and drinks opportunities.
